The Kauto Star Novices’ Chase is a Grade 1 staged at Kempton Park Racecourse ran over 3 miles.

It is open to horses aged four years old and over and takes place during Kempton’s Christmas Fixture on Boxing Day.

The race was originally named as the Feltham Novices’ Chase until 2012 when the race title was changed to honour the great Kauto Star.
Kauto Star won The King George VI Chase on five occasions, trained by the legendary, 11 times Champion Trainer Paul Nicholls.

Shan Blue, trained by Dan Skelton and ridden by Harry Skelton, gave his yard a second Grade 1 for the season after Allmankind’s Henry VIII win at Sandown earlier that month.
2015 winner
Tea For Two was ridden by Lizzie Kelly making her the first female jockey to win a Grade 1 in Britain.
